Bible Quiz

Bible Quiz at Hillsboro, IL

The Compass Bible Quiz team had their first tournament of the season in Hillsboro, IL.  We took 2 teams to the quiz. Harmony and Payton were on a STV team, while Elliott and Titus were on a Rookie team. There were 5 churches from IL and WI. 

Harmony and Payton had a 5-1 record with their only loss in a no-count round. They only lost that round by 1 question! This put them in 1st place.

Elliott and Titus were 6-0 with Elliott quizzing out every team round. Their team had the most points of any team at the tournament. They also won 1st place.

Harmony competed in STV individuals where she battled her way to 1st place.  Payton competed in YTV individuals, and after a rocky start managed to secure 3rd place.

Elliott and Titus were both in Rookie individuals and made it to the final round. Titus ended regulation tied for first place and had to compete in an overtime question to determine the winner. The other quizzer jump slightly faster, and Titus took home 2nd place. Elliott answered several questions during the round and won 4th place.

All our quizzers did an excellent job and their study habits resulted in 2 trophies and 3 medals. One quizmaster noted that it was his opinion that Payton knew the material better than any other quizzer.

We raised about $500 at our Culver's Scoopie fundraiser on September 17th. The regular quiz season will cost us around $3000... though it appears there are more students interested!
