Bible Quiz at Vincennes

On January 7, 2023, Michelle and I took the Compass Bible Quiz team to a multi-regional quiz competition in Vincennes, Indiana. There were over 120 people at the quiz with 10 churches attending from Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. There were 27 total teams with 12 registered for the Mixed Rookie division. With so many teams, they were divided into Rookie A and Rookie B based on previous competition results. Compass was placed into the Rookie A division.

It was a tough day of quizzing for Harmony and Payton. While they did a great job, they struggled in every round. The competition was fierce, with no teams remaining undefeated. At the end of the day, they had 2 wins and 3 losses.

Individuals was no easier. Payton competed in the rookie division against 20+ other quizzers. He had a good round, answering several questions, but it wasn't quite enough to make into finals. Harmony quizzed against 10 others in the Young Teen Veteran division. She made it to the final round, landing in the top 6 but was unable to secure a trophy this month.

It's a blessing to have such dedicated quizzers who study at home, memorizing multiple Bible verses and who love to compete. Each month we have to travel quite a distance just to compete. Vincennes was our longest trip at 6 hours.

Next month we are studying Matthew 6-8.
