Community Wide 21 days of Fasting and Praying
“Revive Our Land”
January 4-25, 2026
Why Fasting: Fasting expresses and deepens our hunger for God. Fasting reminds us that we are sustained “by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God:” (Matt. 4:4). Food or entertainment does not sustain us; God sustains us. In Christ, “All things hold together” (Col.1:17). Therefore, in experiences of fasting, we are abstaining from food or other activities and feasting on God’s Word. Fasting must always, first and foremost, center on God. It must be about Him.
How to Fast:
Step 1: Clarify the purpose of your fast (Revive Our Land)
Revive Us (praying God will start a revival in our hearts and homes first)
Revive Our Young People (praying God will revive the next generation)
Revive Our Community (praying God will revive our area and churches)
Step 2: Specify the kind of fast you will do
Abstaining from certain foods (Only liquids, only fruits and vegetables, no meat, no carbs, no sugars, etc.)
Abstaining from food for certain periods of time (From sunrise to sunset, skipping breakfast, lunch, etc.
Abstaining from entertainment or anything that distracts you from seeking the Lord. (TV, social media, video games, etc.)
Step 3: Prepare to fill your day with worship, prayer, and Scripture
Spend time reading Scripture, Prayer, Worship, Listening to God, and Journaling.
We will gather for corporate worship and prayer at 4 p.m. on each Sunday in January:
January 4th - Focus: Personal Revival, Hosted by Christ the Rock, 2232 Hermitage Ln.
January 11th - Focus: Youth/Student Revival hosted by Roxbury Church, 2103 Roxbury Rd.
January 18th - Focus: Church/Community Revival Hosted by Wesleyan Church, 967 Benton Ave.
January 25th - Focus: Thanksgiving, Testimonies, Prayer for Individuals. Hosted by Compass Church, 1909 Highland Ave.
A room will be available over the noon hour (12:00-1:00 p.m.) for prayer during the weekdays at the following locations. People can come and go as they are able.
Mondays: Roxbury Church, 2103 Roxbury Rd., Janesville
Tuesdays: Wesleyan Church, 967 Benton Ave., Janesville
Wednesdays: Christ the Rock, 2232 Hermitage Ln., Janesville
Thursdays: City of Hope, 1214 Joliet St., Janesville
Fridays: Compass Church, 1909 Highland Ave., Janesville
