Small Groups

GPS-Gathered People are Stronger

Jesus showed us the best way to grow spiritually strong. The ministry emphasis of Christ was “small group.” He introduced a Christian culture that was deeply relational. They did life together. As a result, the life of Christ was able to transfer to the group. This small group then went on to change the world.

GPS groups offer an environment for deeper relationships, greater commitment, more accountability, interaction, hospitality, prayer and lots of fun. Groups meet in homes, twice each month (usually on the 2nd and 4th full week of the month). Meeting days/times vary from group to group. Groups generally last no longer than 90 minutes. They begin with a time of fellowship and food. But most of the time is spent in lively, thought-provoking discussion about the Bible. GPS leaders facilitate discussion as the Holy Spirit teaches, and we pray that God helps us apply what He’s shown us.

Here’s what some people are saying about their first small group experience:

“It was nice to just sit and chat and get to know each other more. We found out we all have a lot in com- mon and have already discussed making plans to get together outside of small groups as well.” Amber Phillips

“Well, I really enjoyed just getting to know everyone in my small group and finding out more about them, and how they came to Compass Church. And, oh my gosh, THE FOOD & TREATS–I AM SO THERE! But I’m really there for my small group.” Megan Shilts

“Our first group went very well. The Bookers were wonderful hosts and the desserts that Charlene made were delicious.!” Pat Coakely
“It was so great to be together with everybody in an intimate way, finally.” Kelly Urban
