Baby Dedications

Baby Dedications

Baby Dedication is a special time to thank God for the precious gift of your child. Dedication is also an opportunity to publicly declare your intentions to raise your child in a Christian home. Finally, dedication at Compass Church is a family time when parents commit themselves to abiding by biblical principles and raising their children according to God’s standards. Not only are you dedicating your child to God, but you are also dedicating yourselves as parents to Christ and the church. You are committing yourselves to maintaining a Christian home in which Christ is honored and the Word of God is held in reverence.

Guidelines for Parents

Baby Dedication is open to parents who can say, “I will commit myself to raising this child to know the Lord Jesus Christ by loving, disciplining, training and setting a positive, Christ-like example.” An orientation meeting with one of the elders is conducted before the dedication to explain the process and answer all questions regarding Baby Dedication.

Membership at Compass Church is not required in order to participate in Baby Dedication. We do, however, ask that you attend Compass Church regularly and consider Compass Church to be your church home.

Single Parents

Single parents may be allowed to dedicate their children, in certain circumstances. Please contact us and use the information above for an explanation of guidelines. If you have questions regarding these guidelines, please contact Lead Pastor Scott Whiting at 608-755-1450.

Preparations

1.  Contact the Church Office at 608-755-1450
2.  Upon completion of registration the families will  then be invited to the orientation.
3.  Parents will need to attend the orientation meeting about one month prior to the dedication service. Details of the orientation will be provided in an email to families wanting to participate.
4.  We encourage you to invite relatives and friends to this special event! Free invitations will be available at the orientation.

Reception

In celebration of this memorable time, we hold a reception on the dedication day following the morning service. Cake and beverages will be served. A photographer will also be available to take photos of the child being dedicated and his/her immediate family.
